Description:
For sale is a Cody lettered Winchester 1885 in 38-55 caliber. The 30 inch #3 half octagon barrel is pristine inside and out. The bore is bright and shiney with like new rifleing. The case colored receiver and tangs are freckled but no rust or pitting. The checkered walnut pistol grip buttstock and forearm show some minor dings but no splits or cracks and has the original finish. It is fitted with a scheutzen buttplate as lettered. The action is tight and functions as designed with a plain trigger. An original Winchester midrange sight has been added but not mentioned in the letter, but is an added value to the gun. Seperately this sight sells for around $500 but appears to have been on the gun for a long time so I left it on the gun.
