This listing is for my Winchester Model 71 Deluxe rifle in 348 Winchester caliber with 24 inch barrel. According to the serial number, it was made in 1950. It has been in my collection for about 20 years and is one of my favorite Winchesters. I have only fired it at the range a few times, probably less than 20 rounds during the time I have owned it, and not at all in the last 10 years. From the general condition, the rifle has been someone's hunting rifle. There is blue wear on the bottom of the action and a couple of scuffs on the barrel- one at the top just ahead of the receiver and one on the right near the front sight. I have tried to document these in photos. There are also a few small scuffs and scratches in the original varnish finish. There are two small dings on the right side of the butt, very close together which are also in the photos. The bore is excellent. I would give the metal 90-95% original blue and the wood 85-90% original varnish. All checkering is clean and sharp. I have 35 photos, but can only publish 15. Send me your email and I will forward you the rest of them. The rifle comes with the original peep sight and rear sight blank. Also included is a one inch leather sling with Winchester Super Grade swivels.This is a nice rifle and I hate to see it go, but, at heading toward 75 and with kids who don't want my guns, the ones I don't use regularly need to go.
