About Us: I have been a collector of old west memorabilia for a number of years.


Description:
Sheriff's Badge Plumas County, California.  Six point star, brass nickel plated.  Stamped out of sheet stock, not cast.  The catch on the back is the tongue style.  Pat'd. 1903.  Size 2-1/4" dia.

Plumas County is in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California.  The county seat is Quiney which was a Gold Rush Town in 1849.  In 1850 noted African-American frontiersman James Beckworth discovered the lowest pass through the Sierras which became known as Beckworth Pass.
