SOLD Classic Winchester 1892 lever action the desirable 38-40 cal.
Historical trivia; (Actually it should have been designated 40-40 as the bullets are .401 dia.
The 38-40 designation was a marketing scheme in the 1890s).
Winchester asked John Browning to make a lever action that would take the same ammo as the popular revolvers of the day.
Thus the 1892.
A scaled down version of the Winchester 1886 big bore, Browning creation.
This one was made in 1907 with a 24" octagon barrel, and 15 round magazine tube.
All original, excellent condition.
Bore is shiny w/ minor indication of black powder use. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
