British Mameluke sword in the style of the Egyptian Mameluke swords. When occupying foreign countries, the British forces chose to wear swords in keeping with the local military in solidarity with the local soldiers. These swords had blades etched in various designs. This model has the Seal of the English Crown, crossed sabers and floral motifs. We approximate this sword to be from 1882-1914 during the period of British occupation of Egypt.
