This is a so-called "Model of 1942" rifle (the barrel is dated 6-42), and has all correct "R" marked parts save for the unmarked barrel band, and the rear sight ladder and slider (both marked "OL" on the reverse). The metal retains 95-97% of the original parkerized finish, with some silvering at the muzzle, as well as on the high edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the "R" marked bolt. The barrel band has an overall plum-brown patina, and the magazine cut-off has a mottled gray-brown patina. The walnut stock and handguard have an added armory finish over minor handling marks and small blemishes, while the Ordnance Dept. crossed cannons and "RLB" inspection cartouche are still clear and legible. The rifle is fitted with a worn, but still fully serviceable, Model 1907 type leather sling, and is a fine-near excellent example of a WW2 Remington ‘03.
