Description:
Serial #88778, .45-90, 26" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is an 1894-made rifle that has had an overall professional restoration to excellent condition. The barrel and magazine tube retain virtually all of a great looking blue finish, while the receiver, hammer, lever, forend cap, and crescent buttplate have a commensurate amount of restored color case-hardening. All of the edges are still quite sharp, and the markings are all still clear and legible. The smooth walnut forend and straight-wrist buttstock are in fine condition with some minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the reapplied oil finish, and a 1 1/2" long crack running up from the buttplate on the left side. This is a highly attractive, restored Winchester that looks great and is chambered in a splendid cartridge. Antique
