Description:
Serial #3769B, .32 RF, 3 1/4" octagon barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few spots of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome revolver that retains 85-90% of the original nickel finish that has flaked lightly along the edges of the brass frame, as well as scattered spots of dark freckling on the barrel and cylinder. The frame has excellent New York scroll engraving, with further scroll and punch-dot accents on the cylinder, and geometric designs along the barrel. The hammer and trigger have developed a dark, mottled plum-brown patina with some bright gray along the edges. The rosewood grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior. The wood is in fine shape with only scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes on either side, as well as some small impact marks at the butt on the right side. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional. This is a rarely seen, factory engraved Whitney, and would make a fine addition to any collection. Antique
