Description:
Serial #4174930, .30-06, 24" barrel with an excellent, bright, two-groove bore. This rifle has a 2-44 dated, "RA" barrel and the metal retains about 95-97% of an arsenal reapplied parkerized finish on the barrel, and a commensurate amount of original parkerizing on the receiver. The bolt has a like amount of original Du-Lite blue with some silvering along the bearing surfaces, which continues onto the trigger guard/floorplate. The walnut Type-C stock has an Augusta Arsenal rebuild stamp on the left side, and exhibits numerous small handling marks and small surface blemishes throughout. The handguard likewise has numerous minor surface blemishes in the military oil finish, and the stock compartment is filled with cosmoline. An OD canvas M1 sling is also installed. This is a nice example of a post-war refurbished ‘03-A3, and would make a nice addition to a collection of US WW2 rifles. FFL or C&R
