Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1931, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 3oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 9/16", DAC 1 9/16"
Serial Number: 4621

The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation.  A strikingly handsome gun made with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure.  IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, SHOOT HIGH VOLUME BIRDS OR CLAY TARGETS, THIS IS THE GUN.  This fine M21 Standard Grade, sn4621 built in 1931, is a great example of a pre-war vintage gun with the very best of modern shooting features.  With perfect mirror bores, barrels tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face, top lever way to the right, RARELY FOUND DOUBLE TRIGGERS WITH STRONG, WELL-TIMED EJECTORS, great shooting dimensions, and in the same configuration as when it left the factory 91 years ago, she is mechanically sound and pretty to look as well.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN, WITH 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY.  THE GUN WAS STRIPPED TO THE SMALLEST PART, ULTRASONIC CLEANED, PARTS POLISHED AND INSPECTED FOR INTEGRITY AND FUNCTION, ALL LUBRICATED AND REASSEMBLED.  THE BARRELS AND ACTION ON THIS MODEL 21 RETAIN ALL FACTORY ORIGINAL FINISHES.  The barrels retain 99% FACTORY blue, the receiver retains 97% original factory blue, the stocks have excellent factory checkering, and she is factory choked M/F (actual constriction is 12 thou right barrel 33 thou left barrel, which in Winchester specs is technically M/F but right barrel is really a light mod, which is perfect for hunting and clays). There are no cracks or repairs in the wood, the mechanics and screws are perfect, all ready for the highest volume, heaviest loads you would ever want to feed into a shotgun.  The trigger guard blue had flaked off and looked awful, so we had Turnbull Restorations restore the trigger guard only with the proper charcoal blue so it now looks like the rest of the gun…strong and proper finish.  This is not your usual Model 21, as most 12ga. M21 guns weigh 8lbs. or more and are too heavy for most to consider a good field gun.  This gun weighs in at 7lbs. 3oz. and balances perfectly between the hands.  That is on the light side for American 12ga. double guns and ultralight for a M21, especially with 28” barrels!  I like the splinter forend for field use much better than the beavertail.  Usually when you see a splinter forend and two triggers on a M21 it has extractors, not ejectors.  For the upland enthusiast, two triggers with ejectors is the best choice and near impossible to find on a Model 21 12ga. gun.  With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm.  Finding a gun like this with awesome factory condition and very special, desirable features is a perfect way to own a tangible asset that is a joy to use and will continue to gain value as you take game and break targets. Priced very reasonably, don’t let this one get away.  See specifications below.  Cody Firearms Museum does not have any info on this serial number.  Thanks for looking!
