Designed off the Model 39 using field research and analysis reports from U.S. Navy SEALS during the Vietnam War, Smith & Wesson created what they thought would be the future handgun of the military, the Model 59. Even further derived from the Model 59 is a series of value pistols, the 910 and 915, that Smith & Wesson produced to give a quality option to those looking for a new self-defense option that has a strong record and resume.
Oddly enough, the 9 in 910 designates that this is a 9MM handgun, and the 10 designates the capacity of the handgun. The 910 replaced the 915 in the civilian market in 1994, due to the assault weapons ban, restricting magazine capacity to civilian owned guns. However, once the ban expired in 2004, the guns were shipped with 15-round magazines (as this one did), while retaining the name Model 910. The S designates that this was produced between 2003 and 2006.
This pistol comes with one 15-round magazine and Crimson Trace laser grips.
