   ***   NEW PRICE   ***   Handsome J Blanch & Son light hammer game gun with 30” highly figured nitro Damascus barrels. Reproofed in 2011 in London for 2-3/4” shotshells these beautiful barrels look and handle like a dream! Nice long length of pull on a well figured piece of European walnut. Rebounding hammers. Sidelever opening. And check out the finely sculpted hammers. Great gun for game or clays. At just 6lb 4oz you can carry it all day. Who needs a 20 gauge? Made circa 1883 – 1892.   ***   The 30” nitro Damascus barrels have 2-3/4” chambers and are topped by a raised solid concave game style rib. The rib is inscribed “J Blanch & Son. 29 Gracechurch Street London”. The right barrel is bored 0.748 with a constriction of 0.005 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.021. The barrels were reproofed at 0.748 in London in 2011. The left barrel is also bored 0.748 and has a constriction of 0.014 for Light Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.022.   ***   The highly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock and splinter forearm appear to be a professionally done and fairly recent re-stock. The finish is in good condition with a few minor handling marks and the checkering is crisp. The handsome leather recoil pad is 1/2” thick. Stock dimensions are 15” over a 1/2” leather recoil pad by 1-1/2” by 2-1/8”. Cast off slightly for the right hand shooter.   ***   This handsome lightweight hammergun is in great mechanical and cosmetic condition. Recently rejointed and hinge pin replaced by David Yale. Made by one of the higher quality London makers it possesses great handling characteristics. You will be proud to uncase it at the range or for a day afield.
