BELGIAN Antique Engraved .36 Caliber DOUBLE ACTION Transitional Revolver
RING-TRIGGER Revolver
Here we present an antique Belgian Double Action Transitional Revolver, made circa the 1840s in Liege, Belgium. This is the type of revolver that was being made during the period of transition from the pepperbox to the revolver with a separate, single barrel with revolving cylinder. It is double action only. It is operated by a ring-type trigger and the hammer is very low profile and spurless on the top. Very similar guns were being made in England at the time. Liege proofed.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. Good bore for age with a patina. Both grips are in good shape with an expected amount of wear. Engraved frame and backstrap. The cylinder showcases a naval scene.
