Description:
This would be a excellent rifle for restoration. The bore is toast, it would rate poor at best. I think this was a fireplace wall hanger as it shows a LOT of patina and pitting, there is NO blue left. There is a emblem inletted in the butt stock from the 1893 Chicago Exposition. Wood is solid with numerous dings and dents but no cracks or splits. This functions as it should but as stated, NO finish remains and lots of pitting. I would think it would make a nice 45/70 by having it bored out to that and leave the exterior as is and make it a great shooter. As this is a true antique, it can be shipped right to your door.
