Description: Guns Listing ID: 456390 Harpers Ferry 1829 Civil War era muzzleloading flintlock rifle converted to percussion. There is another Harpers Ferry 1829 that sold on GA that was a 69 caliber – I‚‚m thinking this is the same, but I‚‚m not sure. I am also not sure it should be shot. It is a collector piece that is almost 200 years old. But, it is very cool. Originally this was a muzzleloading flintlock rifle. Many of them were converted to percussion. Stamped 1829 on the plate below the lock plate and 1839 on the plate just under the cock. It also has US stamp. It may have been converted in 1839, thus the different stamp. 57.5” overall length – 42” barrel – Just over 9 pounds. Very nice old piece of history.
