Description:
According to the PGCA research committee, this is the only documented 24" Damascus barreled 28ga ever made! Made in 1912 on a "0" frame, this extremely rare Parker is really the ultimate New Englad Grouse Gun. Made for noted Industrialist, Henry A. Bishop of Bridgeport, CT. Bishop was known to have ordered a number of great Parkers including a AAHE 20/28ga two barrel set amongst others. This gun, made for his wife, Jessie A. Bishop made with original 24" damascus barrels, splinter forend, double triggers, auto ejectors, capped pistol grip buttstock and factory original Silver's recoil pad. Engraved in standard DHE grade pattern for the era with well engraved dogs and scroll with four birds on the bottom surrounded by well executed scroll.
Overall, the gun remains in very good overall condition. The barrels retain nearly all of their fine damascus pattern. Bores are bright and shiny with only a couple of areas of beginning orange peel. The receiver retains about 20% original case color, engraving mostly sharp and well defined. Stocks are sound and retain most of their original finish with minor handling marks scattered. Checkering is well defined and original. Mechanics are crisp and the gun is overall quite nice!
These small bore damascus Parkers are nearly impossible to source and this gun is as fresh a spring daisy having been offered here for the first time in more than 15 years!
