Description: ** SALE PENDING HAROLD IN TEXAS ** Listing and accepting offers on this nice Marlin Model 39 rifle in caliber 22 short, long or long rifle with 24" octagon barrel, plain walnut stocks, plain pistol grip, hard rubber Marlin butt plate, take down frame, original case hardened receiver, open sights, tubular magazine, blued finish on barrel and mag tube, classic Marlin "Bullseye" in the toe line of the butt stock, serial number 7869 with no prefix, made mid-1920s. Receiver shows 10% original case colors with the balance a smoky pattern from aging. Barrel and mag tube retain 85% original bright blue. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished, with some crazing and light peeling of the original varnish starting on the butt stock only. Original hard rubber Marlin logo butt plate is in great shape with no cracks or chips. Action functions properly, as does the half cock safety. Removal of the loading tube also remains perfect. The take down feature is tight with no wobble. Strong bore with sharp rifling and very bright but not mint, about an 8.5 of 10 and may clean better. Original front and rear sights are intact and all markings are clear.
