You are a viewing a very well taken care of Mossberg Model 46B. These were manufactured circa 1938-1945. This rifle is chambered to shoot 22 short, long, and long rifle. It features a hooded front ramp with a folding rear peep. It also has an adjustable buckhorn rear sight that can be utilized with or with out the peep. It is fed with a tubular magazine. The wood stock is original and non-restored. Overall condition is very good +.
If you have been browsing the Mossberg's for a U.S. marked training rifle to shoot, this is the civilian counterpart. The only major difference between the 2 models is that the U.S. training rifle was magazine fed, whereas the 46B is tube fed. The price difference is about a thousand dollars right now. Thats a pretty hefty premium especially if you are more interested in a great plinker versus a collectible.
These rifles shoot. They don't make them like they use to! At $399.00 how can you go wrong?
