Description:
SOLD  **  Zeiss/ Jena Classic ZF4,  4x Bar Mounted with Claws
Do you have a drilling, combination gun, double rifle, or bolt action rifle fitted with claw bases but no scope?  This is the perfect answer.  A bar scope today costs a minimum of $1500 and NECG or any other reputable gunsmith charges $1500 to claw mount one, a total investment of $3000 or more.  For the cost of this item, and a little work, explained below, you will increase the value of your gun with existing bases by at least $3000. If your bases are level, the claws on this scope are level and that's the trick to make this adjustable for your rifle (read below how to do it).

Scope: This is the commercial version of the military scope used for German snipers. Magnification is 4x; Effective objective lens diameter - 44mm; Exit pupil - 7mm; Field of view at 100 yds, 30 feet; Eye relief - 80mm.

These are “the great Zeiss German lenses” that created the Zeiss reputation for clarity. All steel construction. Diameter eyepiece 42mm, length 10.75 inches; Weight with bar and claws, 12.6 oz.  Serial Number is 252536.Condition of the scope is excellent plus plus (no marks) Optics are perfect.
Reticle is Zeiss #2 --bold right and left, with bottom arrow to midway pointing at target, perfect for heavy game.
Includes one Butler Creek Flip-open scope cover for the eye piece.  Objective cover needed is #16 for 1.588”.

As to the photos, if you see any "white or light" areas that you think might be rub marks in the finish, they are simply reflections of light (glare lines).

Fitting: When the front claw is set into your front base, the eye relief will be standard length; then the rear claw can be unscrewed and slid up or down the bar to find the correct position to fit your rear base location.  Minor filing may be needed but scope claws are already evenly adjusted for bore height, fine-tune with scope adjustments for perfect zero.  After the rear claw has been slid into its new position for your gun, for aesthetics fill the old hole left in the bar, which is threaded, with two positive stop plug screws (both sides of the bar).

Price is $349 with free shipping. I accept personal checks and you still have a 3-day right to return it.
