Description:
This is a very nice Italian flintlock overcoat pistol. The rear portion of the steel barrel is Marked Gv Banchi and the lock is also marked by maker G. Banchi. The pistol was made in the gun-making region of Brescia, Italy between 1760 and 1800.
The pistol features all steel mounts beautifully embossed and carved in relief, with the hardwood stock also carved to match. It is relatively slender, measuring 16 inches in overall length, with a 10 inch 0.63" bore barrel. It also has nice brass ramrod tip.
The condition is very good, and it does show age. There is minor wear to some of the mounts that can be expected because of it's age. The lock functions, but will not hold at half or full cock. There is a tiny screw missing from the front of the trigger guard mount and a small bit of repair underneath to an iron decoration done with sterling silver, as shown. Otherwise this is a great looking pistol with minor wear and no problems otherwise.
A most attractive Italian flintlock pistol from Brescia.  Asking $900.00 OBO
