1894 TAKEDOWN, SPECIAL ORDER .38-55, ROUND BARREL WITH HALF MAGAZINE, #470XXX, MADE 1910. Unusual variation in this caliber, this one shows fine barrel and half-magazine blue. Takedown is tight and the barrel has the original buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar and small ivory bead front sight. Aged receiver blue is mixing fairly evenly with brown and gray and shows no evidence of cleaning. Fine deep blue on the bolt. and loading gate. Fine stock and forend showing light handling only and may have been very lightly gone over as it has a bit of a smooth feel to it, yet good wood to metal fit.. There is one very small filled sling swivel hole in the butt stock. Tight action and bore is slightly dark with good rifling throughout. A nice, hard to find takedown in .38-55 with special magazine.
