Description:
This is a pre 64 Winchester model 70 Chambered in 300 H&H mag. This is one of the more desirable chambering in the early model 70. Manufactured in 1948 puts this rifle at the end of the "Transitional" period rifles between the post war models and the standard pre 64 model. It has a mirror like bore. This des not appear to be drilled and tapped at the top of the rear bridge but is on the side. It is drilled and tapped on the front of the receiver on the top. It has a 3 position forward swing safety lever and the bolt serial # matches the rifle. It has a secondary magnum stock bolt part way down the barrel. There are no cracks in this stock. the left side has some scratches it has acquired over the years. It has a Vintage scope mounted that says "Bear Cub Master" on the rear ring and "Kollmorgan Optical Corp" behind that. It uses external windage and elevation adjustments on "Smith Mounts" this scope has fine cross hairs and still has clean glass.
