Sharps New Model 1863 Cartridge Conversion Saddle Ring Carbine 50-70 cal., 22'' blue barrel

After the Civil War the government re-lined the barrel to a .50-70 cal. Marked "A.H.K" on left side of barrel behind sight. Marked "New Model 1859" barrel top right behind sight.  Also marked "C. sharps Pat Oct 5th 1852" and "R.S. Lawrence PAT APRIL 12th 1859".

Condition is fine as converted.  Rifle has been nonprofessionally refinished at some point and looks great.  The story that goes with the gun is that it was once part of U.S. General Curtis LeMay's collection.
