Cougar 8045F model pistol designed & built by Beretta in Italy chambered in .45 caliber. It‚‚s a DA/SA gun with exposed hammer and a ambidextrous safety/decocker lever. There‚‚s a slide lock on the left of the slide and the same take down lever as on the 92/96 series pistols. The hammer can be pulled back slightly off the transfer bar, or carried fully cocked and locked like the 92/96 series pistols. It has a machined steel slide and an alloy frame. This is not the Cougar model now made by Stoeger, nor is it the Mini-Cougar compact model. The workmanship, fit and finish is far superior, though it may be otherwise the same gun.
