NEW, LOWER PRICE! For your review, a German masterpiece that operates with the precision of a Swiss chronometer and closes like a bank vault. No detail was left unattended. Some light, surface rust is present on the left fence and rib near the breech. As some guns do, this firearm has an interesting story to tell. A note from the Seller:
The gun was owned by Paul H. Bombeke of Millville, NJ. Originally born in Lille, France, Mr. Bombeke served as a paratrooper in the French military as a lieutenant in Algeria. After completing his service, he took an executive position with international glass tableware giant J.G. Durand of Arc, France and in 1979 he was charged with establishing a North American subsidiary based in Millville. Mr. Bombeke purchased the gun in the mid-80s through AKAH-France, the French branch of the famous German catalog company and the sole importer of Merkel for France. He used the gun to hunt upland birds in Southern New Jersey with his teenage son, Terry, who made a career in the fine gun industry and currently manages the Shooting Sportsman Magazine brand.
