Steel butt plate. One of the finest custom rifles available, and in a very useful caliber. Unbelievable quality in classic Griffin & Howe style.
The stock alone would cost more today than my price for the complete rifle. If the scope system not to your liking it could be easily removed and converted to a traditional mount.
