Description:
Winchester 1873 chambered in 44-40 cal. This is a "second model", with 24" octagon barrel and full length magazine tube. Dust cover is an aged reproduction replacement. Very good exterior condition for age. Some stock shrinkage/chipping around forward top tang as shown in pics. The bore is dark, with rifling visible in the barrel but not at the muzzle. Pretty much what you'd expect for a gun that probably spent at least 20 years shooting ammo loaded with black powder. Action functions perfectly, smoothly and lockup is tight. I have fired a few dozen rounds thru it with no problems or issues. Not terribly accurate due to the worn bore, but a good looking, functional example in solid shape, for a realistic price. $50 insured shipping to lower 48. Can ship direct due to its status as an unregulated antique. Just need to see copy of driver's license showing buyer is over 21. Feel free to ask any questions.
