Hard to figure why S&W didn't make more of these fine and practical six shot .22LR "J" frame revolvers with 6" barrels, but made a load of 2" and 4" versions (Model 34). The all steel 6" has a wonderful feel and the extra 2" of barrel make them easier to hit with than the shorter barrel M-34s. This example looks as if it wasn't shot much if at all as the front face of the cylinder retains about all the blue- normally this blue gets "shot-off" in fairly short order from use. Only the grip straps show blue wear/thinning from handling or holster wear, yet the rest of the revolver shows about all the blue. The original checkered walnut grips are excellent and numbered to the gun. Adjustable target sights, pinned barrel and recessed chambers with vivid case colored hammer and trigger make this a truly classic and scarce 50 year old S&W!
