SOLD This Saginaw Gear Grand Rapids Carbine barrel date is 8 - 1943. The carbine's serial number is 1846359. It has a Underwood Barrel that has a minty bore. Underwood was one of the prime barrel contractors for Saginaw Gear. This Saginaw Gear "Prime" has several parts that are from Irwin Pedersen. This is completely correct as Saginaw Gear "Prime" took over Irwin Pedersen production of the carbines. Saginaw Gear "Prime" used what parts were useable and available from "IP" in their production of S'G' carbines. This mix of parts is quite common with S'G' guns. The bolt is the flat blued bolt by S'G'. The push button safety is by IP-A. The butt plate is by PM-IP. The stock is S'G' marked. This is a very fine original condition Saginaw Gear Prime! The high wood stock and handguard have their original finish intact. The metal parts also retain the original finish. The metal finish condition would rate a 98% overall. Saginaw Gear "Prime" is the second rarest carbine to find! The Irwin Pedersen Is The Rarest to find in carbines. Saginaw Gear only produced about 2% of the total production of carbines during World War 2. This carbine is a prime example of these rare carbines! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
