On Hold Sale Pending. Antique Circa 1850 Pennsylvania / Plains rifle in approximately 45 Caliber. The 34 inch rifled barrel is marked Remington and has both front and rear sights.The functioning lock has the American military (usually seen on military muskets) style eagle on the tail of the lock. Both the lock and barrel have a dark brown patina This old rifle is covered with brass including a great functioning brass Patch box. The stock is in very good (probably maple, has many brass fixtures and a German silver nose cap. The bore is approximately 45 caliber and has good rifling but needs cleaning.
