Description:
Special order Winchester rifle features a Take-down frame and fancy Walnut stock. 26 inch octagon barrel with full length mag tube. 38-55 caliber. Sights include a combination front and a folding single leaf rear as well as a folding tang sight. Rifle appears to have suffered a little from poor storage. A little pitting on the barrel and mag tube as well as the butt plate. Left side of the receiver shows very light oxidation as well. Some thinning barrel blue remains. Right side of the receiver looks good with some original blue and the balance turning brown. Crisp action and a very good bore. Good traces of case color remain on the hammer and lever in protected areas. A good example of a first year production Model 1894 rifle. Not a bad looking gun.
