THIS GUN WAS PURCHASED NEAR H & R'S LAST FACTORY IN GARDNER MASS. IT WAS DURING THE SAME PERIOD THAT H & R WAS SELLING THE CASE COLORED TRAP DOOR CARBINES AND MODEL 976 REVOLVERS. WE BELIEVE IT WAS A FACTORY ONE OFF TRIAL GUN AND EVENTUALLY WAS SOLD TO AN EMPLOYEE OR A LOCAL FRIEND. AFTER SOME EXTENSIVE RESEARCH WE WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANOTHER ONE LIKE IT. ALL PARTS MATCH AND OTHER THAN THE CASE COLORED FRAME IT HAS ALL THE FEATURES OF THE STANDARD 999.
