This is not your grandfather's mauser that has been in a closet for 50 years. It was a SAFE QUEEN that appers never to have been fired.
Here is a beautiful, drop dead gorgious, Persian Mauser model 98/29 with a 30 in barrel and 8MM caliber, orignal blue in excellent condition. A very fine and rare Mauser made for the Persian army by BRNO between 1931 and 1938 as part of an unfulfilled order of 180,000 rifles.
This rifle was made by the Czech BRNO Arsenal, under military contract to the Persian government now currently named Iraq/Iran, The rifle has the Persian Royal Crest of the Persian lion and Sun under the Pahlavi crown and Farsi model inscription to the L/H action side, with numbering to the ring and rearsight.This rifle has matching numbered parts (receiver, bolt, stock) which are marked in Farsi (Nasta'liq script). They are considered to be the best made mausers of its time. BRNO mausers are noted for its smooth lock up and impecable accuracy with outstanding workmanship and reliability.
This rifle is one of the rarest mausers and it is in an outstanding condition. It appears never to have been fired and looks as good as the day it was manufactured.
The 29.1" barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling.
The stock, with matching serial number, is also excellent with a disc on the right butt. The cleaning rod, swivels, and stacking swivel are present. The action functins correctly.
This is truly an excellent example of the Model 98/29 Persian Mauser in like new conddition.
Very few Persian Mausers come up for sale and to find one in this condition is certainly unusual.
