For your consideration is a Springfield Model 1899 bolt action rifle chambered in .30-40 Krag. The Springfield Model 1892–99 Krag–Jørgensen rifle is a Norwegian-designed bolt-action rifle that was adopted in 1892 as the standard United States Army military longarm, chambered in U.S. caliber .30-40 Krag. All versions and variants were manufactured under license by the Springfield Armory between 1892 and 1903 and famously served as the longarm during the Spanish–American War. This rifle utilizes a 22” round blue’d barrel with front sight and rear adjustable rear sight. The left side of the receiver is marked “U.S. Model 1899 Springfield Armory”. The .30-40 Krag caliber designation is on the left of the barrel. The straight grain walnut stock shows good condition and has checkering on the fore grip and the pistol grip.
