Description:
This Ohio barn find appears to be a U S Model 1816 probably a Springfield or Harpers Ferry formerly a flintlock converted to percussion.  Although the lock functions, due to dark metal and pitting there are no visible markings.  The full length barrel and all metal parts are dark brown with pitting.  The full length 3 band dark walnut stock is in good condition but has a large chip behind the hammer (see photo) the cartouches are present as well as a cartouche behind the hammer which I believe relates to the conversion, also initials on the left butstock. This old musket is complete and original as converted to percussion in the 1850s prior to the civil war and is complete with sling swivels but missing its Ramrod. Please feel free to call me with any questions.  Shipping will be
actual cost by insured priority mail with tracking.
