WW2 BRINGBACK JAPANESE EDO PERIOD SHIN GUNTO MTD KATANA BY MINIMOTO TANEHIRO (TADAYOSHI SCHOOL), CIRCA 1600'S. 26.5" (67mm) cutting edge with original shoji hamon. Standard military mounts with corresponding cherry blossoms indicative of gunto mounting. Very old blade though with tang having 11 mei characters on one side (Hizen province proclaiming Tadayoshi school maker) and three characters opposite I have been unable to translate(poetic or holy incantation?). Straight out of local family who's WW2 Coast Guard ancestor chose it out of ships hold off of Guam during War. Have G.I.'s name
