IDENTIFIED AND RARE BAKER & MCKENNY U.S. PATTERN 1839 BUFF SHOULDER BELT WITH EAGLE PLATE. Mexican War era for the U.S. Model 1835/40 Flintlock Musket. Good maker stamp “FROM BAKER & MCKENNY/141 GRAND ST/NEW YORK”. Inscribed in old ink hand drawn letters “GEORGE L. FARR/COMPANY I” and “O’BRIEN”. Also stamped in ink “E CO./13TH REGT” with the “E” written over in old ink “A” and above it the number “54”. Also stencil ink marked with the number “38”. Excellent condition with the original chalk white finish. Eagle plate in fine condition.
