Beautiful U.S. Model 1816 Flintlock musket made at Harpers Ferry Arsenal in 1824. 42" smoothbore .69 caliber barrel with 2 iron barrel bands and double strap nosepiece with brass blade front sight with barrel marked with "P" over "(Eagle)" proof. Flint lock with brass pan with "(Eagle / US" and marked at the rear "HARPERS FERRY 1824". Walnut full military stock with "V" stampings and iron hardware. Comes with original steel ramrod. PROVENANCE: Rich Guckes Collection. CONDITION: Metal has faded to a very pretty silvery gray patina. Wood has been light sanded with period repair behind the tang with light usage marks, very good mechanics. A Handsome example of a true UNALTERED Harpers Ferry Msket.
