Description:
22 inch round barrel chambered in the scarce 22 Short caliber with a very fine bore. Original sights include Lyman side mount aperture receiver sight as well as little flip up rear barrel sight and a dovetailed blade front. Original walnut stock is nicely figured and in excellent condition complete with the correct checkered steel buttplate. The stock has the correct sling swivels one of them mounted on the forearm band. Correct 5 round clip. Has about 80% thinning blue turning plum. Scarce gun. Winchester made about 6,000 or so of these 22 Short Model 57's (which were discontinued in 1930) and this one is one of the nicer looking ones. Total production was about 18,600 made between 1927-1936.
