Description:
A C.W. era Burnside carbine with a 21" barrel with a clean, shiny bore and surface frost in the grooves. The action locks up tight. and the exterior metal is brown patina, with a top pf the frame stamped: BURNSIDE PATENT , MARCH 25TH 1856. And a Sn of 18887. The lockplate state, , barely legible:looks like:Burnside Rifle Co. Providence=R.I. The gun is cmplete and the left side of the stock has the long rectangular gov't proof visible. The American walnut stock has numerous dings and dents from field use and is dark with age. Looks to me like this gun may have also seen service in the West during the Indian Wars from the wear. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
