Caliber: .50 Caliber Centerfire
Markings: The bottom of the barrel is marked with the serial number. The top of the barrel is marked “I / J.M.B.C" over an anchor. The right side of the frame is marked “P / F.C.W”. The left side of the frame is marked “REMINGTON ILION N.Y. U.S.A. / PAT. MAY. 3D NOV. 15TH 1864 APRIL 17TH 1866”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a mortised post fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a “V” notch in a rise in the breech block.
Stock / Barrel / Receiver Configuration & Condition: The stocks are well used and in fair condition at best. There scattered compressions, draglines, dings, scrapes, heavy scratches, chips, and small pieces missing. There is traces of a cartouche on the left grip panel (see pic). Backstrap screw is missing (see pic).
Barrel shows traces of original blue maybe 20% along with scratches, scrapes, and dings. Receiver showing molted case colors along with a nice gray / brown patina.

Bore Condition: The bore is awful, rusted. It may clean up somewhat but don't count on it.
