Up for sale is my Hinderer XM-18 with a 3.5” Spanto blade. I am the 2nd owner of this knife and while I love it, it’s overkill for my current needs. It has turned into more of a safe queen that should be enjoyed by someone who will use it as intended.
After purchasing this knife, I decided to add Hinderer’s full titanium scale ($200 upgrade). In my quest to always have something different and unique, I sent the scale to Rogers Precision to have it golf-balled by Chuck. To my knowledge, there isn’t another Hinderer like this in existence but Chuck would be able to confirm or deny that.
This knife has been professionally sharpened to a mirror finish on the edge that will shave hairs off your arm without effort.
Everything about this knife is perfect with the exception of a few minor scratches on the lock side that I tried to capture in the below pictures.
If you are looking at this ad, then you probably already know about Hinderer knives and their reputation for building one of the best quality tactical knives in the world. Add the titanium scale and Chuck’s machine work and you have a knife that would be the pinnacle of most collections.

The XM-18 is known the world over as one of the toughest tactical folders regardless of your mission. Rick’s focus when designing the XM-18 was a no nonsense tactical tool ready for the simplest cutting tasks to high speed low drag operations.
The XM Series CNC flat ground Spanto blade is the best of both worlds offering maximum cutting potential in a blade that has a durable tip for prying; retaining its thickness right out to the tip. The over-sized choil permits choking up on the blade for more precise work. The blade locks up on a solid ¼ in diameter Thumb stud which is press fitted into the blade. This makes for a very strong lockup as there is no loosening of the thumb stud which can happen with two piece designs. The fact that the thumb stud locks up against the frame adds an incredible amount of strength to the sideways torque of the blade as the sideways stresses are being stopped by the whole handle side, thus relieving the stress that would normally be put on the pivot.
