Description:
Here is a 1943-vintage Winchester Trench Gun. The finish is original and the serial numbers on the receiver and barrel. All proper proof marks are visible and crips. Factory letter details that the serial number was applied to firearm on July 30, 1943. Bore is shiny and it functions fine. You can slam-fire it.
Now for the caveat - when I found this in a pawn shop the heat shield had been removed and a multichoke adapter afixed to the barrel. Some years later I finally found an original heat shield and had a gunsmith both remove the multichoke device and affix the heat shield. He found that whomever attached the multichoke adaptor had milled down the barrel to accomodate it. This is detailed in several of the photos. Otherwise it remains in great shape.
