Description:
Argentine Mauser Cavalry Carbine, Model of 1909, SN 13748; cal. 7.65x53mm. All serial numbers matching (except muzzle cover), metal is in excellent condition and stock is VG+ with small dents and scratches but no cracks or splits; all acrews are in excellent condition. The bore is in near-mint condition with a concave surface on top of the lands similar to Henry rifling. Action and buttplate are bright and rest of metal is blackened. All markings are crisp, not softened from refinish. I think this may be an arsenal-refurbished gun. I'm not an expert but I have an Argentine Police Carbine that has a similar character including excellent metal and a near-mint barrel coupled with a same-number stock that is slightly more used. For those who have never shot the Argentine Mauser round, it approaches the 308 WIN (7.62x51mm NATO) in performance and ammo/reloading supplies are available. The Model 1909 was patterned after the famous M98 action and is one of the strongest and smoothest bolt actions made. FFL or C&R; $35 shipping.
