Flintlock pistol with 8.5"" smoothbore barrel, made in 1842 by Robert Johnson. The pistol has a fine patina barrel with a good bore and light corrosion. The stock has worn inspector cartouches on the left side. The stock appears to be in very good condition. There is a small repaired crack on the left side near the rear of the barrel and above the buttcap. There is a chip repair on the right side of the stock near the tail of the receiver. The lock plate is in very good condition with no pitting and sharp markings. The top jaw is held in place with a replacement screw. The action works perfectly. Overall a fine U.S. Army issue pistol.
