Payment Types Accepted: Bank to bank wire transfer (preferred), or bank cashier's check only Description: Very light recoil relative to its superb performance are trademarks of this highly popular 257 Roberts caliber. This is a scarce caliber in the Model 70, and would be the perfect rifle for someone wanting a nice gun that they can use as intended, yet still maintain it's originality and collectibility. S/N 83*** with matching scribed bolt places this rifle in the transition era of production, making it even rarer. These guns were only produced for about 3 years (1946-1948) and have some carryover Pre War characteristics. This one was made in 1948. It still wears the Pre War style "clover leaf" shaped receiver tang, and has a unique to this period "clam shell" or "rabbit's foot" safety lever. Unlike the Pre War, the rear bridge was made smooth, unmatted, and factory drilled for scope bases. The overall condition is very good, showing 97% Blue and about 95% Varnish with some scattered marks in the wood, most notably on the underside of forend. The mechanical function is flawless and the bore is excellent. This is an affordable and nice Roberts in this scarce caliber/configuration! Expedited, securely packed, and fully insured shipping from Alaska is $75. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
