SN 6587, matching on barrel, sight and buttstock. 33" .41 caliber barrel with excellent bore. Barrel is blued, and turned plum brown. Receiver , lock, lever and buttplate are in the "white". Marked on left side of receiver: PEABODY'S PAT. JULY 22. 1862, MAN'F'D BY, PROVIDENCE TOOL CO. PROV. R. I. Stocks are excellent and have been revarnished without sanding. Action works well. An Excellent example of this rifle. Antique, Excellent. These Magnificent Civil War Rifles are getting harder to find and almost Never in this Condition. This will make for an outstsnding Display and your Heirs will sing your praises.
