Description:
This musket is identical to the Springfield and Harpers Ferry 1842 muskets.  Widely used by Confederate troops at the beginning of the Civil War.  Mechanically this musket is very good with both the 1/2 cock and full-cock working very well.  The .69 caliber 42 inch smoothbore barrel has the usual pitting from the sue of black powder.  It has an original ramrod that is "cupped" at the end for the mini-ball.  Overall condition of this antique rifle is good to very good.
