Description:
Serial #S81780, 6 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has very mild freckling at the breech. This is a ca. 1951 revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor, while the metal retains 95-97% of the original blue finish that has silvered lightly at the muzzle, along a few of the high edges, and a mild turn-ring on the cylinder. The trigger and target hammer retain a commensurate amount of original color case-hardening, with some gray fading along the edges, especially on the hammer spur. The checkered, diamond-center S&W grips are original and numbered to the gun on the interior, and the wood has only mild wear and flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is an excellent, 1950s N-Frame .38 overall. FFL or C&R
