This is the Smith and Wesson Model #1, second issue tip up revolver with flat sided frame manufactured from 1860-1868. The spur trigger single-action revolver is in Very Good plus condition retaining about 80-95% of the original silver plate on the frame now a pleasing dark pewter color with loss on the high edges and some scattered light scratches and freckling. The barrel and cylinder are mostly plum brown to silver-grey with scattered scratches and some patches of pinprick pitting. The grips are very good to near excellent, solid with a tiny chip missing on the bottom left panel and finish level scratches and bruises. The barrel locks up tight without any play and action functions with a crisp hammer cock that advances the cylinder, however it does not always time properly and the top strap is a bit loose. A very good looking example of this favorite Civil War pocket revolver. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: S&W Model: No. 1 Caliber Info: .22 RF Gauge Info: .22 RF |
